As our Finance Assistant, you’ll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day running of our finance function, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and great attention to detail in everything you do. Working closely with our Finance Director and wider team, you’ll help maintain smooth financial operations – from processing invoices and expenses to assisting with reporting and month-end tasks.
Finance Assistant Responsibilities:
- Assists in the preparation of monthly financial accounts and the production of key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor business performance.
- Responsible for processing the monthly payroll
- Monitors and manages the company’s credit control processes, ensuring timely payment from customers.
- Conducts reconciliations of financial data to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
- Oversees the purchase ledger, ensuring invoices are processed, and payments are made promptly.
- Takes the lead in coordinating and facilitating the audit process, ensuring compliance and accuracy of financial records.
Finance Assistant Requirements:
- Previous experience in a finance, bookkeeping or accounts support role
- Working knowledge of Xero – including purchase/sales ledger, bank reconciliation and basic reporting
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to work
- A proactive and helpful attitude – comfortable communicating with senior stakeholders
