SYMATRIX CASE STUDY

THE BRIEF

Founded in 2000, Symatrix has long had a specific focus on providing services and expertise to organisations looking to implement and leverage the Oracle Human Capital Management (HCM) platform. The organisation truly believes that all its customers should be able to make their Oracle business applications work harder for them and provide the returns and benefits they expect, which drives its ethos and solutions.

Today, Symatrix provides end to end services for HCM and enterprise resource planning (ERP), on premise or in the cloud, and delivers operational services, evolved consultancy services, training and ongoing support. The business has also added Environment Management and Testing as a Service, while creating a set of new services to help businesses embrace the cloud. Symatrix is an ISO27001, Bacs and Cyber Essentials accredited business.

With an aim to increase brand awareness of the organisation as a reputable employer and leading technology provider in the HR and payroll sector, Symatrix employed the expertise of Whiteoaks International in 2019 to achieve its objectives. Fast forward to 2022, and Symatrix is now in its third year with Whiteoaks, with sign off completed on another 12 month campaign to take the partnership to the end of 2022.

THE APPROACH

As part of the campaign for 2021, Whiteoaks completed a research project which uncovered unique industry insight into HCM and ERP implementations and the biggest technology challenges currently faced by businesses.

Whiteoaks has also enabled Symatrix to build its business and employer profile with a range of corporate news releases. This has included appointment, product, partner, acquisition and customer win announcements. One of the highlights included the showcasing of the organisation’s work with retail giant Co-op, achieving coverage with publications such as Retail Technology and Retail Times. Following the appointment of Charles Courquin as sales director at the business in October 2020, coverage was achieved in publications such as MicroScope and Technology Reseller.

Also covered in the press was Symatrix’ acquisition of Succeed, UK-based Oracle Peoplesoft HCM and payroll consultancy services provider, helping to strengthen its HR and Payroll capabilities. This news achieved coverage in publications such as IT Europa and Inside Media.

Thought leadership has also been an integral part of the campaign. Published articles have provided Symatrix’ expert insights into the industry, with key topics covering areas such as preparing payroll for the new job support scheme during the Covid-19 pandemic, the war for talent as the power moves from businesses to job seekers or employees, commentary on ERP, reducing administrative burdens and HR and payroll providing business insights for the CFO.

THE RESULTS

Since the beginning of the 12 month campaign in October 2020, 44 pieces of coverage were achieved, with a total of 81 key messages across all pieces. In addition, the research project completed by Whiteoaks led to 11 pieces of coverage in total, while 81% of coverage included links back to the Symatrix website, helping to drive prospect and customer traffic to product and solutions pages. Corporate news accounted for 20 pieces of coverage.

“It’s been a transformative year for our business and the wider industry, with significant developments such as the completion of our acquisition of Succeed and tackling the hurdles that have faced finance, HR and payroll departments due to the pandemic. With Whiteoaks by our side, we’ve not only been able to meet external challenges but have also taken the next step in our growth journey. Our partnership with Whiteoaks has gone from strength to strength over the years and we’re excited to see what the next 12 month campaign brings in 2022.” said Vickey Wallis, Marketing Manager at Symatrix.
