Google has come under fire after going back on a promise to NEVER show banner ads with search results. Going against Google’s founding principles, they have said this will be a very limited trial to allow advertisers to include an image as part of the search ads that show in response to certain branded queries.

Facebook is rolling out a new tool intended to prompt publishers to post their stories on Facebook more frequently. “Stories to Share” lists articles that media outfits have posted on their sites but not yet shared on Facebook, along with a “share” button.
