Text version - OKI Research Case Study

To increase awareness of business users’ printing habits to understand the impact on businesses print budgets.

Conducted an independently polled survey of business users’ printing habits focussing on how the increasing blurred lines between home and office technology is impacting on business printing.

The survey aimed to measure printing behaviours of consumers from a personal and business perspective and identify how the surge in Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) among office workers is influencing the volume and type of printing that organisations carry out. The results demonstrated how users printing habits can make it difficult for companies to optimise their print efficiency.

Whiteoaks also helped drive social engagement with the survey, developing a supporting infographic for use on the OKI UK website and through the company Twitter feed.

Headlining the survey, the news that 79% of more than 2,000 respondents use their work printers for personal document printing struck a chord with the media, leading to over 15 pieces of coverage in key titles for OKI such as Dealer Support, The Recycler, MicroScope and TechRadar.

The results provided a great platform for thought leadership and for OKI to stamp its own spin on the results, with follow-up blog pieces secured in titles such as Channel Pro IT Pro and Business Works.
